The latest update, deployed on December 7 for the Speech to Note application, introduced four key enhancements aimed at improving user experience and functionality. The following sections detail each new feature and provide instructions for user interaction.
Implementation of Progressive Web App (PWA) Feature: Users now have the option to install a PWA version of Speech to Note on their laptops or mobile devices, providing a convenient and more application-like experience. The PWA mirrors the functionality available in the web browser version but allows faster, on-the-go access to Speech to Note capabilities. Instructions for Installation and Use:
Navigate to the Speech to Note website on a compatible browser on your mobile device or laptop.
Look for a prompt or icon indicating the option to "Install" or "Add to Home Screen."
Follow the prompt to install the PWA version on your device.
Once installed, open the PWA from your device's home screen or app list to access Speech to Note functionality offline or without opening a web browser.
Enhanced User Profile with Picture Customization: A new feature has been added that permits users to update their profile picture within the application dashboard. This option enables users to personalize their profiles beyond the default or associated Google account image. Instructions for Updating Profile Picture:
Access your user dashboard within the Speech to Note application.
Locate and click on the profile picture icon.
Choose the option to update or change the profile picture.
Follow the on-screen instructions to upload a new picture, remove the existing one, or revert to the default image.
Tag Management for Notes: Tags play a crucial role in categorizing and filtering users' notes. The tag management feature now includes the ability to edit or delete tags, addressing feedback regarding tag customization limitations. Instructions for Managing Tags:
From the dashboard, navigate to the "Settings" page, and locate the "General" section towards the bottom.
In the tags management area, users can add new tags, delete irrelevant or mistakenly created tags, and rename existing tags for better organization.
The tag changes can also be made from the summary modal popup by clicking on each row. Users can edit the associations with current tags and manage them accordingly.
Release Notes Page Addition: A dedicated page for detailed release notes has been introduced to inform users of the latest updates and features. Instructions for Accessing the Release Notes:
Click on the profile picture icon on the dashboard to access the dropdown menu.
Select the "What's New" section.
The "What's New" section contains the release notes page, which provides comprehensive information regarding recent updates and improvements to the application.
These updates are now live and have been thoroughly tested, ensuring that users can fully benefit from the enhancements to the Speech to Note application.
