Technical Release Notes for Speech To Note Version 1.9

Overview

We are excited to announce the release of version 1.9 of our application. In this update, we have introduced GPT-4o to the application, along with several new features, enhancements, and bug fixes aimed at improving user experience and expanding the capabilities of our application. Here are the key changes:

New Features

1. Monthly Subscription Plan

  • Introduction: Users now have the option to subscribe on a monthly basis in addition to the existing annual and lifetime plans.
  • Details: The monthly subscription is available at a smaller price and renews every month automatically.
  • Impact: This offers flexibility for users who prefer shorter commitment periods.

2. Transcript and Summary Copy Options

  • Copy as Plain Text: Allows users to copy the transcript without any formatting.
  • Copy as Formatted Text: Maintains all formatting, such as bold, italics, etc.
  • New Copy Options:
  • Details: Click on the copy icon associated with the generated summary to use the dropdown menu and select the desired format.

3. Transcript Translation

  • Feature: Users can now translate transcripts into other languages directly from the single note page.
  • Steps: Record, generate the transcript, and use the new option to translate within the application.

4. Transcript-Only Mode

  • Transcript Only: Disables format selection.
  • Transcript + Note Format: Enables format selection and standard processing.
  • Details: Users can now generate only transcripts without any note formatting.
  • Steps: Toggle between modes on the dashboard:

5. Webhooks Feature

  • Setup: Navigate to settings, locate the webhooks section, and enter the service title and URL.
  • Usage: On the single note page, use the share option to send data to defined services.
  • Customization: Select the desired transcript or format to share, and proceed with the data transfer.
  • Introduction: Webhooks are now available for ProPlus users, allowing integration with various services for automation purposes.

Enhancements

1. OGG File Support

  • Fix: Users can now select and upload OGG files directly without changing the file type filter.
  • Improvement: Streamlined file selection process.

2. Monthly Credits Label

  • UX Improvement: The credits label on the dashboard is now clickable, redirecting to the settings page for detailed credit information.
  • Impact: Users can easily track their monthly and lifetime credits.

3. Free Plan Adjustment

  • Change: The free plan now allows for only one minute of recording, reduced from three minutes.
  • Impact: Free trial still maintains a seven-day full access period for users to explore the application.

Bug Fixes and Minor Improvements

1. Modal Persistence

  • Issue: Custom format modal would close if clicked outside of it.
  • Fix: The modal now only closes when the designated close button is clicked.

2. UX Adjustments During Recording

  • Change: Disable format selection and upload file options during active recordings to avoid accidental interruptions.
  • Impact: Prevents data loss and improves recording stability.

3. UI Consistency and Fixes

  • Update: Improved consistency of buttons, tables, and links across the application.
  • Impact: More cohesive and user-friendly interface.

Additional Improvements

  • Minor UI Fixes: Addressed various issues regarding non-functional buttons and inconsistent fonts.
  • General Upgrades: Ensured no non-functional elements remain and enhanced overall user experience.
